State law allows large electric power users (900 kW or greater) to choose their provider, if they locate in one of our industrial parks. There are three providers with transmission lines in the county: Georgia Power and two membership utilities, Coastal Electric Cooperative and Canoochee Electric Membership Cooperative.

Like electricity, the supply of natural gas has been deregulated in Georgia. Businesses deal with one company, Atlanta Gas Light that is part of Southern Company, to get distribution lines to their site. But there are more than 15 marketers of natural gas. The Georgia Public Service Commission maintains a list of those marketers here, and lists recent prices for comparison here.

The county’s three major industrial parks, Tradeport East, Tradeport West, and Midway Industrial Park, are served by LCDA, while the City of Hinesville provides service in Walthourville Industrial Park and Hinesville Technology Park:

Three commonly used internet/phone providers in Liberty County’s industrial areas are Lumen (formerly CenturyLink), Coastal Fiber, Comcast, and Hargray.
