LCDA event bolsters relations between industries, community

Liberty County Development Authority has its annual fall Industry Appreciation reception on Oct. 30.

“The event thanks the companies that bolster the area economy by operating industry in the county,” LCDA CEO Ron Tolley said.

More than 4,000 people have jobs in the industries located in LCDA industrial parks and the manufacturing complexes around Riceboro.

The oyster roast and Lowcountry boil were served by the staff at Dorchester Shooting Preserve. Sponsors, besides LCDA, were Evans General Contractors, Coastal Electric Cooperative, and Thomas and Hutton Engineering. Approximately 70 people attended.

Tolley said the event, and others each year, are put on to get industry leaders and the employees they want to thank together with local and area leaders.

“Besides telling our companies how much they mean to the county, events like this give them the opportunity to network with each other and with area decisionmakers,” he said.
