Liberty College and Career Academy
Our public schools have 29 different learning and industry pathways in two high schools, Bradwell Institute and Liberty County HS, as well as in the college and career academy.
STC Liberty Campus
The technical college’s campus here provides courses leading to associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates in industrial technology, health sciences, business and technology, and public service.
GSU Liberty campus
Home to 500 students, the campus serves undergraduates, dual enrollment, and adult learners, especially the military.
Army Education Center
Fort Stewart’s SFC Paul R. Smith Army Learning Center, outside the main gate, hosts 4 colleges; Central Texas, Columbia, Webster, and Savannah Tech for military and civilian students.
SCAD
The Savannah College of Art and Design is one of the premiere art schools in the world, but also has industrial design and architectural programs at its Savannah campus.
Georgia Tech
Georgia Technical Institute-Savannah is a thriving hub for education, an essential resource to industry, and a valued contributor to the coastal region. It offers tailored professional programs.

K-12 Education
15 Schools
More than 10,000 students attend 15 Liberty County School System facilities, ranging from PreK Center to two high schools and their supporting Liberty College and Career Academy.
93% Graduation
LCSS has graduated an average of 621 students annually and maintained a graduations rate of 93.7 percent, which is almost 10 points higher than the state average.
AP and STEM
Both of the system’s high schools, Bradwell Institute and Liberty County High received Advanced Placement Access and Support Schools and STEM Schools Honor in the state in 2019.
Public Schools
EDUCATION: Preparing students for real-world global performance
PreK-12
Technology: One-to-One iPad environment 4-12th grade; SmartBoards for all classrooms in the county’s 7 elementary schools, 3 middle schools and 2 high schools. Liberty County Board of Education website.
Prep: Graduation rates exceed Georgia average.
Pathways: Preparing career- and college-ready graduates through:
- Bradwell Institute and Liberty County High School Career Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE), offering seven pathways including Business Management and Administration, Architecture and Construction and Education and Training
- Liberty College and Career Academy: A state-of-the-art charter school where “every day is career day,” providing 12 career pathways leading to certificates and credentials aligned with area industrial needs, such as welding, engineering and technology, engineering and aircraft support.
- Dual enrollment at Savannah Technical College Liberty Campus and Georgia Southern University Liberty Campus: Offering advanced preparation for students with up to 30 hours in diploma level (transferrable for a four-year college degree) and/or occupational courses in career, technical and agricultural education, including coursework in Engineering and Information Technology and Business Management and Marketing.
Early start: Educational options include County-operated PreK.
Special ed: LCSS also operates an extensive special education program in its schools.
Military Cooperation: Numerous units “adopt” public schools. But ultimate sign of cooperations is two schools being named Military Flagship Schools. Liberty consistently has had schools earn this honor. In 2021-22, Bradwell Insitute and Midway Middle earned the honor. State designates only 6 schools a year for the honor.
Fort Stewart Schools
Elementary Schools on Fort Stewart
The Department of Defense Education Activity maintains three K-6 schoosl on Fort Stewart, under South Carolina/Fort Stewart Community System. They are exclusively for children who live on post. When those students finish sixth grade, they go into one of the Liberty County public middle schools.
Private Schools
There is a church run school, First Preparatory Christian Academy is operated by the First Presbyterian Church. It offers classes from PreK through high school.
Another church, First United Methodist Church, operates FUMC Pre-School and Kindergarten.
There are also numerous private daycare and preschool programs around the county.
