Magazine taps Hinesville as good place to do business
Hinesville – Area Development magazine, considered the leading executive magazine covering corporate site selection and relocation, has named the Hinesville-Fort Stewart area a desirable place for doing business and included the community on their 100 Leading Locations list in their Spring 2011 issue.
The magazine based their findings on 14 highly regarded location surveys from sources including Forbes, Newgeography, Brookings MetroMonitor, Fast Company, and CNNMoney. Area Development used the findings of the Milken Instituteʼs Best Performing Cities 2010 as the primary criterion. Each of the 100 Leading Locations on their list must appear within the top 100 rankings for large and small cities on Milkenʼs report.
In addition, Area Development considered the results of their own Select Regionals Survey as a criterion to select the 100 locations that made the final cut. This survey, sent to nearly 300 U.S. regions and metros, considered the areasʼ top three greatest project investments of 2010, unemployment rates, and total capital investment pledged over the past year.
“We are honored Area Development has named the Hinesville-Fort Stewart area one of the 100 Leading Locations for 2011,” states Ronald E. Tolley, chief executive officer of the Liberty County Development Authority. “Being included on the list with communities like Austin, Texas; Denver, Colo.; Seattle, Wash.; Charlotte, N.C.; and Philadelphia, Pa. will help elevate Liberty Countyʼs profile as we continue to market the area to companies looking to expand or relocate.”
Area Development listed the Hinesville-Fort Stewart area as a desirable place to do business, because the community ranked well on two particular surveys. Both the Milken Institute: Best Performing Cities 2010 and Newgeography: Best Cities for Job Growth surveys recognized the Hinesville-Fort Stewart area as a best-performing location.
